Tomorrow the European Council (EU Council) will discuss EU positions and further response on recent developments in Belarus – on election fraud, human rights violations, repression of opposition representatives, students, women and other groups. In this regard, we would like to remind you of the Policy paper on suggestions for German politics and diplomacy elaborated by a huge number of German NGO, foundations and initiatives coordinated by DRA and its partners: Menschenrechte in Belarus, European Exchange, German Marshall Fund, LibMod, German-Belarusian Society. The paper was discussed with representatives of the German Federal Foreign Office, Chancellor's Office, Bundestag and EU at a round table on September 15, 2020 and contains expectations, most of which are also relevant for the entire EU, although some member countries such as Lithuania, Latvia, Poland have already launched programs for urgent support.
